The Heart of a Woman Magazine
In 2001, I began a women’s ministry in the Church where we worshiped. I started writing newsletters to be given to women quarterly as they came to the Ladies’ Programme. It grew very quickly from 50 to well over 100, as they started asking for more to hand out to others. Eventually, other women joined me in this task in 2004, changing the format to a beautifully printed magazine called “The Heart of a Woman Inc.” I edited the magazine for seven years until it closed under God’s direction.
Numerous authors wrote for the magazine as God brought them together to cover specific themes from a biblical perspective. As each issue progressed, we found that He had gone before in bringing together various contributions into one all-encompassing story.

The Gift of God's Love (1st Printed Edition of The Heart of a Woman)
What better place could we start with our very first issue of “The Heart of a Woman”, than with “God’s Gift of Love”! You will be reading about Eve, Ruth and Bathsheba, and the story of “Esther’s Inner Beauty and Calling” is thought provoking to all of us. We are sure you will find the “Marriage Comparisons of Past and Present” enlightening in view of our current culture. Our marriages are symbolic of Jesus Christ and His bride – the Church, so we as women have a very important part to play! As God’s children we are loved beyond measure and will delight to take part in “The Marriage Supper of the Lamb”. Do you know what that is about? Find out more so you can look forward to it! May God bless you as you read, Wendy Davie (Editor-In-Chief) |
Windows of Opportunity
…from God’s perspective. How He continues to reach out to us! Within this issue hopefully you will discover this truth and be able to see the choices that others have made down through the years. …from our perspective. We hope you enjoy the pieces written about well-known Bible characters and their choices–good or bad: whilst still others are known for their faithfulness or rebellion. There are poems to help us relate to the choices they made and the ones we too need to make in our lives. Once again there are testimonies and stories to bless your hearts. We always look forward to “Moments with Melissa” and now quizzes to do. We welcome two new writers. Mrs. Jane Cruickshank, Jane is an acknowledged and much loved teacher and speaker in Queensland, whilst Mrs. Margret Lepke, our new “Natural Health Editor” is highly trained and widely respected teacher and Naturopath from New South Wales. May God continue to bless you as your read, Wendy |
Don't Waste Your Sorrows
From the Editor's Desk: Many years ago I was lent a book called "Don't Waste Your Sorrows" by Paul E. Billheimer. At the time it was published by Navigators and it impressed me so much, that I have never forgotten it. Sadly this book is now no longer in print but can on occasions be obtained by checking eBay or Amazon 2nds. As writers, each of us know sorrows too personal and difficult to share, but through them our Lord has been teaching us many things. Life will always have depths of sorrows for us to bear, but if we allow them to overwhelm us, we lose all joy in living and relating to our family and friends. We have been blessed as we prayed, studied and wrote, and hope that you, too, may know the blessing of how to hand your sorrows over to the only One who can provide relief and healing. To do anything else is a waste of our sorrows. It prevents us from learning through them and blessing others who may be struggling also. May God bless you now and always with His loving presence, Wendy |
Learning from the Ants
From the Editor's Desk: When the theme was first mentioned, everyone immediately thought of how hard the ants work, their strength, and the experiences we've all had with them in our daily living. You would be amazed at how much we all learned while working on this issue, and we hope that you, our readers, will enjoy the fruit of our labour (and that of the ants), and that these articles will speak to your very heart and soul. May the Lord richly bless, keep and guide you as you seek to serve Him in the whole of your life. Wendy |
